“BUTCH – A Queen’s Struggle To Become A King” is Menno’s debut one-man show, and charts his attempts to get in touch with his masculine side; not an easy feat when you have an unrelenting feminine side in the shape of Kate Bush on E.

“An extremely talented and versatile performer” Mjka Scott, Reverb Radio

Based on real people and events, the show started life at The Theatre Museum in London, April 2005, when Menno was given a 20-minute slot as part of a cabaret night. “Rather than sing a couple of Broadway tunes, I wanted to do something that was personal and original. I’d just had this weird experience with a closeted, ‘straight-acting’ army captain, so I thought I’d talk about that and sing a few songs I’d written about wanting to be more manly myself”.
