As he was writing in his diary about yet another strange experience on Gaydar, Menno wondered what a stage show about the online phenomenon might look like, and his first show was born.
The Gaydar Diaries is a collection of sketches, songs and short monologues that explore the weird and wonderful world of online dating for men. And in a world where nothing is what it seems, anything can happen when men put their love and lust on (the) line
Matt Ian Kelly came on board as director, and after a workshop week at Oval House and a preview at The Battersea Barge, the show premiered at The Brighton Festival in May 2006. Next stop was the Pleasance Islington as part of Europride 2006, before taking the Edinburgh Festival by storm and gaining rave reviews. After another run at the Pleasance Islington, the show then played to packed houses at The New Theatre in Dublin as part of the Gay Theatre Festival 2007.
